Workshops/Teaching

Leslie Hanes is a New York State certified art teacher and has taught photography to elementary grades as well as high school, college, and adult levels.

Photography courses are available either in groups or privately for the following:

Polaroid Workshops
One to two day workshops
The first day of beginning workshops is an introduction and hands-on experience with the Polaroid image transfer process using standard photos, slides or collage materials. Polaroid films and Daylab printers are provided for workshop use. The second day offers experience with Polaroid film’s unique capability for emulsion lifts. Each student leaves with a unique piece of artwork suitable for framing.

Three to five day workshops
These workshops include the above plus 4x5 transfers and image enhancement using art materials for hand-coloring. Alternate surfaces and many creative techniques are explored. Students will also have the opportunity to have their work critiqued.

Computer Lab Workshops: Digital processes such as scanning images, computer enhancement in Photoshop and printing on archival printers is also available.

Other workshops in the traditional cyanotype, Van Dyke, liquid emulsion photographic techniques are available as well.
